Today, they are part of a global network of alumni, scholars, and leaders who have turned that possibility into impact. Their journey started here. And it continues—with all of us.
Guiding this journey is Qatar Foundation’s vision that knowledge should know no borders, championed by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani. This shared commitment empowers our students to engage in the defining debates of our time, our faculty to push the boundaries of global understanding, and our graduates to infuse the university’s values in policy, business, and communities.
Much has changed since 2005. But one thing has not: the role of GU-Q in equipping students from the Global South and beyond to take a seat at any table. If the first 20 years were about building something meaningful, the next 20 must be about putting that capacity into action. Our responsibility—to our students, to our scholarship, to our society—is to meet this moment with the same intellectual fearlessness that brought us here.
To everyone who has shaped this institution—thank you. Your dedication has made GU-Q what it is today. And to those who will define its future—our work is only beginning.
